Base Chemicals produces Energy, Salt, Chlor-Alkali Products and Derivatives (such as MCA, ferric chloride and Water Treatment Chemicals). Our products play a vital role in a variety of industries and can be found in many day-to-day articles. They are used in the chemical, detergent, pulp and paper and plastic industries. The business' products are also supplied to customers in the glass, pharmaceutical and textile markets, as well as being used in disinfectants for swimming pools. Base Chemicals has an outstanding reputation in handling and recycling chemical waste containing chlorine. Joint ventures operated with energy companies enable Akzo Nobel to make competitive use of combined heat and power (cogeneration) to assist in the production vacuum salt and chlorine.
